MCP Readiness Check: connector for Claude

What it is

A remote MCP server at https://nordprix.com/mcp that brings the free Nordprix readiness checker into Claude. It checks an MCP server against the requirements Anthropic publishes for the Connectors Directory and returns a fix for each problem it finds.

Set up

In Claude, open the connector settings, add a custom connector, enter https://nordprix.com/mcp and leave authentication off. No account is needed. Then turn the connector on in a chat.

Tools

• Check MCP server readiness (check_mcp_server): give it your server’s public https:// URL. It checks the transport, the authentication type, OAuth discovery and the tool rules.
• Check tools/list JSON (check_tools_list): paste a tools/list result, for example from MCP Inspector or a signed-in session, to check tool definitions without contacting any server.

Both tools are read-only. Ask for the full detail to see the evidence for every check and every request made.

What is sent to the server you name

The MCP handshake (server/discover, or initialize and notifications/initialized on older servers, plus a request to close the session if your server opened one), tools/list (at most 5 pages) and GET requests for OAuth discovery documents. It never calls a tool, never registers an OAuth client, never requests a token and sends no credentials or cookies. Only public https:// addresses are checked. Each request times out after 10 seconds, a whole check stops after 20 seconds, and responses larger than 1 MB are not read.

Troubleshooting

• “Only https:// URLs can be checked”: serve your MCP server over HTTPS. The Connectors Directory accepts only https:// server URLs.
• “Private, local or reserved addresses cannot be checked”: use the public URL of the server.
• The endpoint check fails with 403: a firewall or bot protection may be blocking non-browser clients. Make sure it lets Claude’s requests through.
• Tool checks are skipped: the tools are behind sign-in. Paste a signed-in tools/list result into the second tool.
• “Not testable from outside”: callback URLs and token endpoints need a real sign-in, so check those by hand.

Limits

The checker covers what can be tested from outside a server. A clean result is not an approval: Anthropic’s reviewers make that decision. See a sample report.
