Samsung’s 49-inch Odyssey G9 curved gaming monitor is listed at Amazon.ca as a “Limited-time deal,” 41% below the list price Amazon shows for the model, checked at 6:20 pm ET on 23 September 2026.
What it is
According to Samsung’s specifications page for the LS49CG952ENXZA, the monitor is a 49-inch VA panel with a 32:9 aspect ratio and a 1000R curve. Its resolution is DQHD, or 5,120 by 1,440 pixels. The same page rates the refresh rate at up to 240Hz and the response time at 1ms (GTG), and lists VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification and HDR10+ Gaming support, with 450 cd/m² brightness and a 2500:1 contrast ratio. The stand is height-adjustable and the panel takes a 100 x 100 VESA mount. Connections are a single DisplayPort 1.4 input, two HDMI 2.1 ports and a two-port USB 3.0 hub.
Why this price is notable
The “Limited-time deal” label is Amazon’s own, and the 41% is measured against the list price Amazon itself shows for the monitor, not against any figure Samsung publishes. The card carries a percentage and a list price and no price history, so it says nothing about whether the monitor has been cheaper before. No end time is published with the offer, and Amazon’s deals page carries a banner announcing that Prime Big Deal Days will run on 6 and 7 October.
Who it suits — and who should skip it
One curved screen at this width stands in for two monitors side by side, which is the appeal for players of simulation and strategy games who keep several windows open while they play. The desk comes first: the width in Samsung’s figures is what has to fit, and the stand adds to it. The 240Hz refresh rate only pays off with a graphics card that can drive 5,120 by 1,440 pixels at high frame rates, and anyone doing mostly office work will fit a smaller, flatter screen more easily.
What to check before you buy
Amazon.ca’s returns help page states that “most items can be returned for a refund or replacement/exchange within 30 days of delivery as long as they are in original or unused condition.” Samsung’s warranty page for Canada lists a “Warranty Period 12 Months” for consumer desktop monitors, against the 36 months the same table gives business (B2B) monitors. Buyers should also check which condition the listing is for before paying.
Alternatives
Samsung lists an OLED version of the same 49-inch shape, the Odyssey OLED G9 (model G95SC), on its Canada site, and a wider 57-inch Odyssey Neo G9 (G95NC), a Dual 4K UHD model with its own support page. Neither is part of this offer, and Nordprix did not check prices for either.
