Amazon cuts 67% off its own Fire TV Stick 4K Select

Amazon’s Fire TV Stick 4K Select is listed at Amazon.ca as a “Limited-time deal,” 67% below the list price Amazon shows for the streaming stick, checked at 6:20 pm ET on 23 September 2026.

What it is

According to Amazon’s own device specifications for Fire TV streaming players, the 4K Select has 8 GB of storage and 1GB of memory, runs Fire OS 8 and uses a MediaTek MT8698 MCM processor. The table lists 4K video at up to 3840 by 2160 pixels at 60 frames per second, with HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG supported. Storage matches the pricier 4K Plus in the same table, at 8 GB on both. Dolby Vision does not: it appears against the Plus, not against this model.

Why this price is notable

The “Limited-time deal” label is Amazon’s own, and the 67% is measured against the list price Amazon shows for the stick. Amazon is both the maker and the retailer, so the reference price and the markdown come from the same company. No end time is published with the offer, and Amazon’s deals page carries a banner announcing that Prime Big Deal Days will run on 6 and 7 October.

Who it suits — and who should skip it

The Select suits a second television — a bedroom or a guest room — where 4K streaming matters more than Dolby Vision or the faster radio in the Plus. Its smaller memory is enough for streaming apps but leaves less headroom when several are open at once. Buyers with a television that handles Dolby Vision, or a home network crowded with newer Wi-Fi 6 devices, would get more out of the Plus.

What to check before you buy

Amazon.ca’s own device warranty page lists the Fire TV Stick 4K Select under the same “One-Year Limited Warranty for Amazon Devices” it gives the 4K Plus and the 4K Max. Amazon’s returns help page states that “most items can be returned for a refund or replacement/exchange within 30 days of delivery as long as they are in original or unused condition.” The specification page also sets out what the stick needs: a 4K UHD television with HDMI capable of 2160p and HDCP 2.2, or a high-definition set with HDMI capable of 1080p or 720p.

Alternatives

Amazon also sells the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, the step up in the same line, which its specification table gives Dolby Vision and Wi-Fi 6. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max and the Fire TV Cube sit on the same device warranty page, for buyers who want another model or a box rather than a stick. None of those is part of this offer.
